Your Questions, Answered - So You Can Glow With Confidence.
What should I do before my spray tan?
  • Exfoliate 24 hours in advance using a loofah or washcloth (avoid oily scrubs).
  • Do not apply lotions, oils, perfumes, or deodorant after your shower.
  • Shave at least 12 hours before your tan to avoid streaking from residue and allowing your pores to close.
  • Schedule waxing, facials, and manicures/pedicures prior to your spray tan.
  • Wear loose, full-coverage clothing to your appointment to prevent smudging or skin-to-skin transfer.
How do I choose my spray tan "color"?
No need to choose alone! I'll do a custom skin consultation and help select the perfect solution based on your skin tone, undertone, and desired depth of color.
What do I wear during my spray tan?
Whatever makes you feel comfortable - bra and underwear, swimwear, or nude.
How long do I leave the spray tan on before rinsing?
I'll advise you at your appointment on the ideal rinse time based on the solution used and how deep of a tan you're aiming for. Rinse times typically range between 2–8 hours, but I'll guide you based on everything we discuss.
How do I rinse off properly?
  • Use lukewarm water and no soap for your first rinse.
  • Rinse gently with your hands only, focusing on areas like knees, elbows, behind the arms, ears, and neck.
  • Pat dry with a soft towel - no rubbing!
When can I apply lotion or use soap/shower products?
Wait 24 hours after your tan before applying lotion, using soap, or washing your hair. For best results, moisturize twice daily and avoid scrubbing or exfoliating. Shaving should be avoided for at least 2-3 days after your tan to maintain even color.
How long will my spray tan last?
Your glow will typically last 5–7 days, up to 10-12 with proper care and the Hydration Sealer. Stay hydrated and moisturize regularly to extend the life of your tan.
My spray tan isn't dark enough after rinsing, what should I do?
Give it a full 24-36 hours to fully develop. If it's still lighter than expected, we can try a different solution at your next appointment for a deeper result.
I'm too dark… what now?
Try the following to gently lighten your tan:
  • Take a second rinse or soak in a warm bath.
  • Sit in a sauna, hot tub, or steam shower to help gently fade the bronzer.
What if I see streaks after rinsing?
  • First, hop back in the shower for another rinse (especially if you see bronzer buildup).
  • If streaks remain, you can use rubbing alcohol on a cotton pad to carefully lighten the area.
  • Be cautious: alcohol will also remove the tan in the spot where it's applied, so blend carefully and only use as needed.
  • We typically avoid respraying over streaks as this can lead to patchy, uneven color.
Can I still tan outside?
Yes, but remember: your spray tan offers no sun protection. Always wear water-based SPF to protect your skin while maintaining your glow.
Can I work out after my spray tan?
Avoid exercise, sweating, or wearing tight clothes for at least 24 hours after your tan to prevent streaking, early fading, and uneven development.
Will water affect my spray tan?
Yes. Pools, hot tubs, saunas, and the ocean can fade or strip your tan. If you'll be in water, apply waterproof SPF to help reduce fading.
Can I get a spray tan if I'm pregnant?
DHA is FDA-approved and only affects the outer layer of skin. However, we recommend you check with your doctor before booking.
Can I get a spray tan if I just had surgery or a tattoo?
Only if the area is fully healed. Please reach out ahead of time if you're unsure.
Can my teen get a spray tan?
Yes, with parental consent.
I have sensitive skin, eczema, or psoriasis. Can I still get a spray tan?
Yes, in most cases. If you're concerned, we can schedule a patch test before your full appointment.
Will I look orange?
Not with Fojo Glo! I use Dolce Glow, a luxury tanning solution known for delivering natural, golden results that compliment your skin tone.
Will the bronzer rub off?
Some transfer may happen during the development phase. Wear full length pajamas to bed and loose, dark clothing afterward. Any cosmetic bronzer that rubs off typically washes out like makeup.
My skin is peeling. Can I still get a spray tan?
No. Spray tanning over peeling or flaking skin can result in uneven fading. You'll need to wait until your skin has fully healed, which can sometimes take 3–6 weeks.
How do I remove my tan completely?
  • Soak in baby oil for 30–60 minutes.
  • Exfoliate gently in the shower using a mitt.
  • Hot water and oil-based scrubs can help fade stubborn areas.
